Racing to the Cloud: Mattel & BorgWarner to Headline Gartner IOCS Session

Nasuni’s Lance Shaw discusses the company’s upcoming speaking session with Mattel and BorgWarner at Gartner IOCS.

November 13, 2024  |  Lance Shaw

The annual Gartner IT Infrastructure, Operations & Cloud Strategies (IOCS) Conference is approaching fast, and we have a fantastic session lined up featuring two long-running Nasuni customers. The first, Mattel, Inc., is one of the world’s best-known brands, the designer and manufacturer of toys like Barbie and Hot Wheels. The other, BorgWarner, is equally remarkable. The technology supplier is deeply respected within its industry and an integral partner for some of the world’s most important automakers.

What do they have in common?

By adopting hybrid cloud storage and entrusting petabytes of file data to Nasuni, these two industry leaders have generated exceptional value for their companies. That’s why you’re going to want to hear what they have to say.

Nasuni’s Gartner IOCS session will feature Justin Voytal of BorgWarner and Alex Goncharov of Mattel going deep into their respective hybrid cloud journeys, from their initial challenges through their global deployments. They’ll detail how the move to hybrid cloud impacted end users, their colleagues in IT, and their companies as a whole. Alex and Justin will be driving the content, but you can expect them to hit a few themes:

Global Performance

Part of the appeal of hybrid cloud is that it combines the scale of the object store with the performance of the edge. Mattel has design, manufacturing, and production facilities distributed all over the world. Similarly, BorgWarner transitioned 100 locations to hybrid cloud. Both companies accelerated file data access worldwide and accelerated their global workflows, but I’ll leave the details, and what this meant to their companies, to Alex & Justin.

ROI & Business Value

Again, BorgWarner consolidated the storage and data protection infrastructure at 100 sites into one Nasuni File Data Platform. This sort of move drives tremendous value, and Justin will be sharing real, detailed metrics and results from his company’s transition.

Impress Your CIO

Justin and Alex will share how they’ve turned the transition to hybrid cloud with Nasuni into a win for them professionally, impressing their CIOs and other executive leaders. Although Mattel is closer to the superhero business with its toy lineup, Justin will share how you can use Nasuni to look like an IT superhero to your executive team.

Ransomware Recovery

One of Nasuni’s biggest selling points — especially for CIOs and CISOs worried about ransomware — is the rapid recovery capability of our core platform. Our customers can recover millions of files within minutes after a ransomware attack. To the executive team, that means getting back to business as usual much, much faster than expected.

AI Readiness

While we’re on the subject of executive priorities, AI is going to be a major theme at this Gartner IOCS. Nasuni operates in rarefied, hype-free air in this space. We aren’t suddenly pretending to be an AI company. Yet what we do is critical for the Generative AI revolution. Our technology helps large organizations get ready for AI by consolidating, curating, and generally organizing key data.

This is going to be an interactive session, so be sure to attend and ping Alex and Justin with questions yourself. One final, important note: This isn’t just for manufacturers. Far from it. The challenges Alex and Justin faced, and the results produced, are common to large organizations. Whether you represent an AEC leader, an accounting and consulting firm like PWC, a state and local government organization, or a financial institution like Man Group, this is going to be worth your time.

I look forward to seeing you there. Stop by and see us at Booth 141!
